The comings and goings of students didn’t affect her concentration. She was leafing through her notes in the natural light of one of the arched windows in the main cloister. Silence reigned, so important for study and thought. All you could hear were the steps of a few students arriving for class. A few minutes later it livened up again as the voices of students brought a buzz to the passages between classes. But she just continued to sit there, unmoved, concentrating on her class notes.
