Red tarpaulin covers the carousel’s enormous form. A child plays around its edges, waiting for the stiff tarpaulin to fall to reveal the little wooden horses, space ships, and fantastical animals. I love the way kids get all excited when the carousel lights are switched on and its starts to twirl round at the foot of the aqueduct. It makes me think that we grown-ups also need throw off the old tarpaulins that stand between us and our dreams.
