The stone base of Segovia’s aqueduct serves as a place to sit down for a few minutes. The two-thousand-year-old structure may not be very comfortable, but its massive presence makes you want to go up to it, touch the stone, take shelter at its feet, and rest a while. It is the great protector. The children feel safe here.
