There they were, concentrating on their instruments and the music score. The music sounded sweet and enigmatic to me as it floated beyond the walls of the room and out into the main cloister. The result was a captivating atmosphere that drew the attention of anyone who happened to be around. That evening the Student Hub had been turned into an improvised rehearsal room where a group of music lovers who, in addition to their day jobs, meet up to play music together, were practicing “Tropical Classics Ensemble.” These musicians, both amateurs and professionals, work hard together to do a range of educational and recreational performances around the city of Segovia. IE University Professor and guitarist Juan José Prat Ferrer is a member of the group. He draws up the musical arrangements, many of which are based on old piano scores.
