Men lean on the pillars of the aqueduct, protecting it from time and against danger. It’s almost as if they’ve been here for over a century, like guardians turned to stone watching over a treasure. But these guardians are not armed with sharpened lances and large shields, just a simple walking stick, which can also come in very useful for warding off enemies or for clearing a path through the city’s cobbled streets. I love how these old ways remain in Segovia, customs from a bygone age, frozen in time.
