I like the traditions of the city where I live. If you’re in Segovia on Christmas day you can’t miss the Turkey Race, a cycling competition that has been held here every year for almost 80 years now. What’s different about this cycle race is that only bicycles with no chain can be used. Participants have to ride down a long slope to pick up speed and gather enough momentum to carry on along Calle Real, one of the main streets in Segovia. The winner is the person who can go the furthest without putting their feet on the ground, and their prize is a turkey.
