The sight of these tired birds resting on the bare branches of this old tree captured my imagination. It reminded me of the world we live in today. We spend our lives glued to an enormous network, close to each other. At first sight it seems to hold us all together, making us more interconnected than ever before. But the irony is that this big network, this tangled mess of connections that we call the Internet, is actually pushing us further and further apart. We just don’t realize it.
