There’s no such thing as an individual in a mass of people. You can feel safe in a crowd, protected from external danger knowing that you’re the same as everyone else. We all look the same in a throng, as if we were all one color and tone, like an army of ants moving in no particular direction. We live in times in which mediocrity rules in society, and people who stand out because of their values, their intelligence or their integrity are in a minority – practically invisible. You should try to stand out in the crowd, for your capacity and for doing things well, for your ethics and your contribution to the common good. Don’t be just one more in a sea of people. Be you, whoever that may be.
